School Walk-a-thon

We had our 5th annual school walk-a-thon on Friday (it's taken me this long to blog it). Roger had taken the morning off, since he was working on Saturday, so we decided to go up to the school to hang out. The kids walked laps around the school, with each class having a certain goal to reach. Brittany got a little extra help from Daddy on one of the laps! I think she ended up running about 65 laps!
It ended up that it was a good thing we were up there because the guy who was supposed to BBQ never showed up, so we ran home and got our grill and cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for the whole school out in the parking lot.
After the walking was done, the kids got to have a water gun fight. The adults in this picture have a sling shot that they flung water balloons across the parking lot to waiting students who tried to catch them - but mostly just got wet.
Taylor passed his goal and ran/walked about 72 laps, which was 14 miles!! Needless to say, he was really sore the next day!!
As the kids came around the building, Cooper would squirt them with his water gun and daddy joined in on the fun!
Dawson did a great job running, too. He ran about 35 laps!! Each of the kids had a tally sheet on a string around their neck and everytime they passed the "judges", they would put a tally on their card to keep track of how many laps they did.
