Happy 231st Birthday, America!

Happy 4th of July! The day started out hot and muggy as we began to put together our new gazebo out by the pool. The Target here in town sold their last one to someone else as Roger got to the store, so that sent him on a mission to find one somewhere - especially since they were on sale. After calling all the ones in KC, he called his mom in Hutchinson, KS. She ran over to theirs and bought the floor model - thanks, Gramma!!! Now the challenge was to put it together with no instructions. But, my guys came through! Taylor and Roger put it up and set up the new wicker furniture in it and hung the light in the center. Now we are ready for some pool time.
Anyway, about late afternoon the storm clouds rolled in and the rain poured down. So much for sitting out by the pool under the new gazebo. Taylor and Brittany went to work in our school's fireworks tent during the rain and they said that business was still good.
For dinner we had my parents and friends, Carmen and Bernard, over for BBQ (we weren't going to let a little thunder and lightning stop us). Brittany made another wonderful dessert. After dinner, we viewed Michelle and Greg's wedding pictures online - you can see them, too, at freelandphotography.com/peterson. They turned out great!! Also, you can view a short 6 minute video at: crosslinkproductions.com/files/PetersonDay.

This is how Cooper spent most of the night - but he still liked most of them.

Here is our gazebo at night. I'll send a better picture of it during the day. Of course, Brittany and Dawson wanted to sleep in it like a tent! At least they will have a good view of the neighborhood fireworks - there sure are alot!!
