Last Sunday morning we spent at a hight school football game! ESPN televised the home opener of Blue Springs South vs. Rockhurst because they are both Division 6 schools with star senior quarterbacks. Our youth group set up a tent at 7 am to give away 1600 Krispie Kreme Donuts FREE as well as free t-shirts, as a way of promoting our church and youth group.
You will notice the ESPN cameras and sportscasters in the bottom left corner of the above picture. We were sure hoping that David Cook (who graduated from BS South) would make an appearance at the game for half-time or something, since he was in town the day before for the American Idol Concert at the Sprint Center - but he didn't :( He did come to Blue Springs on that Friday for an unveiling of a mural that was painted in his honor on a building in dowtown Blue Springs. We love our hometown idol, David Cook!!!
Can you find Taylor in the student section (now that he goes to South) wearing his big white sunglasses?
Jamie and Brittany and friends cheer on the Jaguars - but it didn't do any good. I won't even mention the game score! Some of us went home after half-time because it was sooooo hot that day and watched the second half on ESPN.
Here DeeDee and Cooper are camping out in line to get into the game. Roger staked his place in line at about 7:30 am and was about the fouth person in line. The gates didn't open until 9:30 and the game started at 11 am. It was a looooong morning.

I always enjoy seeing what is going on in your family.
Today is Roger's birthday and I don't have your e-mail address to send him a card.
Happy Birthday, Roger!
Love,
Roberta
