DeeDee in Virginia

So, I (DeeDee) flew up to Virginia for 4 days to visit my sister and husband where they now live. We had a fun-filled weekend! Above is a picture of them dressed up for the Trunk or Treat at their church. They really go all out when it comes to dressing up in costume - or did they?!!

Michelle has become quite the little cook and hostess. She made some lovely meals. Here we had Brushetta Chicken.

We visited alot of historical places and laughed when we saw this plaque on one of the old historical buildings!!

We attended a Civil War re-enactment that took place on the actual battlefield. We walked through the tent of things for sell and we had to try on these bonnets. There were over 5,000 participants in this re-enactment of the Battle of Cedar Creek in 1864.

Here, I got my picture taken with "Gen. George Custer" on my right. He looked pretty authentic!!
This is the Confederate army getting ready to attack the Union. We had an up close and personal view of the battle. It was quite odd, sitting on the sidelines eating our picnic lunch while men were "dying" on the field right in front of us! We should be so thankful for all those men who fought and gave their lives for our country!!

One highlight of the weekend was going to a Steven Curtis Chapman Concert! Here he is pictured with his three adopted girls from China. They were so adorable!! We had great seats on the third row!

Greg and Michelle are loving it in VA, and why shouldn't they!! It's gorgeous out there!! Greg is a middle school youth pastor and loves working with the kids. Michelle is still recovering from getting her tonsils out three weeks ago. She still talks kind of funny and hopes she gets her normal voice back soon.
