Well, Taylor has had his driver's license about two weeks and couldn't wait any longer to buy his first car. On Saturday he bought a 1996 Honda Accord with 187,000 miles on it. It is dark green exterior and gray interior with a moon roof. He is so proud of it! We bought it from a friend from church who owns a used car lot. He spent all afternoon on Sunday detailing it and making it shine!! He even offered to take Brittany out for breakfast this morning before church, which was a great time for them, until he got his first speeding ticket on his way to church. And it was bad timing because he didn't have proof of insurance in the vehicle yet, so he got a second ticket (which will be taken care of as soon as we show proof). Life lessons are hard sometimes!
Here Taylor is wearing his Subway uniform as he gets ready to go to work. He has only worked there for a week and his boss really likes the way he works and is ready to give him a raise when he finishes some more training. His boss also likes him so much that she is going to give him full time hours this summer - something he really needed. Now he won't have to go and get a second job. He is enjoying his job and loves to be around people. We are going to the public high school tomorrow morning at 7:30 am to register him for his junior year so that he can participate in the basketball camp that starts at 9 am that morning. He hopes to play JV this year and has to attend this camp and weights training this summer. He is looking forward to his junior year especially since he will be able to drive to school now.
