McCain/Palin Rally

Me and a couple of moms from school went to the McCain/Palin rally in Lee's Summit at the John Knox Village Pavilion this morning on the spur of the moment. We got there about 9:30 am and tried to find the end of the line which rapped around the block at least a mile. We figured out that we wouldn't make it into the building, so we just walked up to the building to see what was going on. They had speakers set up outside in an overflow area where hundreds of people waited for glimpse of McCain & Palin. Finally, after several other speakers, they made their exit from their tour bus and came over to where we were all standing outside in the misting rain and said a few words and shook hands before going inside to give their speaches. My t-shirt says, "Hot Chicks vote Republican" - gotta love it! My favorite campaign button that I saw said, "Read my lipstick, vote Republican!" - but they were all sold out. :(
A few kids climbed this tree to get a better look and this "old grandpa" (holding the "We love Palin" sign) wasn't going to be outdone so he joined them in the tree. Kinda reminded me of Zacheus!!
Our next President of the United States, John McCain!!!

McCain and Palin (and her husband) came out to wave to us again before getting back on the bus to head to Columbia, Mo.
I ran into Justine Koontz at the rally, who I have known since we were kids.
