Passport to Purity

Brittany and mommy had a special weekend get-a-way a couple of weekends ago (that's how behind I am in my blogging). It was to celebrate her moving into her teen years and to discuss what to expect in the next few years. It is actually a kit that you can order from Family Life that has a workbook, CDs to listen to with your child, projects to do together and spending lots of quality time together. The weekend ends with a special dinner and a presentation of a special gift. She received a purity ring which she will wear on her wedding finger until she gets married (something she learned from her Aunt Shell when she got married a couple of months ago).
We stayed at a hotel called Chateau Avalon in KC, KS where each room is decorated in a different theme. We got the Pirate's Cove (complete with bones and skulls for a railing - yikes!) The shower/tub was next to the bed in what looked like a barrel and the shower came out of a bucket.
I had some flowers sent to our room for Brittany.

This was the beginning of the weekend and I gave her this package which contained our workbooks and her "Passport" that she will receive once she finishes the weekend.
This is the Bed and Breakfast type hotel that we stayed at. It is mostly for couples for a romantic get-a-way - but enjoyed it anyways!
Roger did this same thing with Taylor when he was 11 and he will get to do it two more times with the other boys. But this was the only chance I will get to do it.
